Travel with Dorothyadele

Dorothyadele has loved most of her electrifying travel experiences, though some trips had dramatically increased her heart rate.

Examples of some of her favorite trips include the following: She sat in the co-pilots seat on the way to St. Barths. She traveled to Bimini in the Bahamas by boat and docked next to a yacht occupied by old men and hookers. Her high school French class had visited Paris, where the travel agent had booked them in a brothel. Plus, when a pedicab driver unsuccessfully tried to scam her in New York, she chalked it up to a learning experience.

However, the trip that made her most uncomfortable took place in Hatillo, Puerto Rico. She was riding in a jeep with her young family until they became stuck in gridlock on a back street. Drunk men staggered in the street and then surrounded their jeep. While hooting and hollering, the men began to beat on the jeep with their fists.

When she’s not traveling, Dorothyadele loves to play tennis and golf. Moreover, she splits her time between her home and the Delaware beaches.

Dorothyadele met her husband, on her first day in college, where she graduated with an English degree. Today, they are married with two grown children.

Several years ago, Dorothyadele had returned to school to improve her writing, and her professor inspired her to start a blog. She has been writing ever since, and you can find some of her published articles on GO NOMAD  and Erma Bombeck’s humor writer’s site.

  1. Hi! We have been dying to know what was in the chocolate martini at eastern standard, hope u have the secret recipe!

    1. The recipe is 1/3 Grey Goose Vodka, 1/3 Smirnoff Vanilla Vodka and 1/3 Creme de Cocoa. I tell myself that it has less calories than the ones made with Godiva chocolate.

      Thanks for reading my blog!

  2. I don’t know if you remember me…(I used to babysit your children) I stumled accross your blog and have had such a great time browsing through it. For me, recommendations and reviews are like free money. I have added you to my favorites!

  3. we are very well. I married a delightful man named Ken 9 years ago, we moved from Oklahoma, where we met in college, back here to Parkville, Md (He is from northern CA) and we have 3 beautiful children ages 6,4, and 2. I am a stay at home mommy enjoying homeschooling and time with these sweeties ( I ended up with a BS in early childhood education, I guess it was destiny, haha!) Just loving life and thankful for our blessings.

    1. I knew that you would be successful. Congratulations! I don’t have any grandchildren (hopefully they will get married first). J has hamsters and we have a dog.
